Treatment of water environment in aquaculture is a matter of concern

The provincial Department of Aquatic Resources Protection said that this year, our province's aquaculture production reached approximately 200,000 tons, this is the year the province achieved the highest output ever. However, most of the time of the change of seasons such as the time when the water recedes, farmers focus on cleaning the fields, the residues are thrown into the canals, making the surface water environment polluted, causing the fish shock phenomenon. mass fish deaths.

The results of the environmental monitoring phase 1/2006 of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the province have recorded that the majority of aquaculture households use surface water and discharge contaminated water in the aquaculture model. Even surface water is being used, leading to an increasing pollution of aquaculture water, causing fish disease and mass death. Although, in the past time, the Provincial People's Committee has issued Decisions 1582 and 894 to strengthen the management and treatment of the surface water environment in aquaculture, but little attention has been paid to the aquaculture households. Surface water pollution is becoming more and more serious.

In addition, through surveys in many aquaculture households, it shows that farmers are less interested in arranging separate settling ponds or not properly treating wastewater before releasing it into the environment, leading to poor water quality. Wastewater at upstream is also the input water source of the next aquaculture models.
